WHAT TO EXPECT

As a first-time guest, we want you to feel comfortable & welcome.

We have communion once a week. It is an open invitation for believers to examine themselves and decide if they would like to participate.

Our worship music varies from traditional hymns to contemporary songs. All the lyrics are shown on our big screen for everyone to follow along as we sing praises and worship God.

We have blue card available to fill out, located on the back table or the pew in front of you. If you would like to be included on our online weekly bulletin email, if you have a prayer request or so we can answer any questions you may have.

We encourage you to visit our church at least three times to get a good feel for what is happening at Culver Christian.

WHO WE ARE

In 1809, the following quote from Thomas Campbell helped solidify a movement, “Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent.”

Culver Christian Church was born out of this movement. We believe that it articulates the proper approach toward God and His Scripture.

We are an independent, non-denominational church that believes the Bible to be the inspired infallible Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

Jesus Christ was virgin-born, sinless, died on the cross for sins, was raised from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven and is coming again for His Church (Matt. 1:18, Heb. 4:15, 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Jn. 14:3, Acts 1:6-14).

Salvation is a gift, bestowed by God’s grace and received by faith (Eph. 2:8-9).

Baptism is immersion in water of a professed believer (Acts 8:36-39). Romans 6:1-4 testifies that through immersion we are baptized into Jesus’ death; being an image of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.

A believer’s Salvation is secured by and through Christ alone (John 10:18-27).

The Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:23-33), and the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12).

The local Church is locally governed by Godly men known as elders (Titus 1:5).

The purpose of the Church on earth is to fulfill the last command of Jesus (Matt. 28:18-20).

Individual Christians are empowered and receive gifts from the Holy Spirit, not for themselves but to minister to the Church (Rom. 12:4-8, 1 Cor. 12:1-11).

The Holy Spirit enters and lives in believers at the time of conversion (Eph. 1:13-14), to guide, empower, teach and comfort each of us.

In essentials of the faith, Unity.
In the non-essentials, Diversity.
And in all things, Love.

We believe this articulates the right attitude we should have as followers of Jesus.
